Ambersil Flaw Detector
The Ambersil flaw detector comprises of a 3-part system for a quick and easy visual detection of flaws and cracks. Each set consists of a cleaner, a penetrant, and a developer that helps identify the problems immediately and reduce downtime when used together.
- Part 1 - Cleaner A powerful solvent cleaner to flush oil, swarf, or soiling that may be obscuring the defect. Its important features are: Powerful flush action Fast evaporation Low odour, safe to use, non-chlorinated
- Part 2 - Penetrant A highly visible low surface tension dye that will quickly find its way into the smallest crack or flaw. Its important features are: Can also be applied to the underside of components or structures Easily removed by the solvent cleaner
- Part 3 - Developer A white chalk contrast medium that offers maximum visibility against the red penetrant fluid.Its important features are: Dries quickly to form a white powder coating Does not run-off Easily removed after inspection Allows the effective 'bleed-through' of penetrating dye
